Making The Source pan-Canadian has been possible due to our extensive network of partners and funders over the years.
The Source is an initiative of the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women's Health (BCCEWH) and has expanded over the years. The BCCEWH is responsible for the website with the support and contributions from all partners.
The Source was originally funded by the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research through funding provided to the Women’s Health Research Network in British Columbia.
Since this original funding, we have acquired funding from the British Columbia Ministry of Health and Health Canada.
We have also had a number of partners who have been involved with us over the years. The Prairie Women's Health Centre of Excellence, the Atlantic Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health, the National Network on Environments and Women’s Health, and the Canadian Women’s Health Network have been long-standing partners. Each has provided in-kind resources to expand the content of The Source and increase it’s functionality.
Additionally, the British Columbia government, the Yukon Government Women’s Directorate, Echo: Improving Women’s Health in Ontario, and the Ontario Women’s Health Network have been key partners.
We have received in-kind support from BC Women's Hospital throughout the project.
La Source, the French–language site, received support through the Women’s Health Contribution Program of Health Canada.
Lastly, our long-standing relationship with Women’s Health Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, inspired The Source and continues to be an important ally in the pursuit of information on women’s health and women’s health data.
